Gingerbread waffles

Youll need:
Gingerbread waffles
125 g butter
4 dl wheat flour
2 eggs
2 dl milk
2 dl cold water
1 tsp baking powder
1 pinch salt
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp vanilla sugar
1 1/2 tbsp gingerbread spice
Saffron cream
3 dl whipping cream
2 tbsp sugar
0.5 g saffron
Butter or oil for baking
This makes about 8 waffles.
Campfire waffles with ataste and smell of Christmas. Perfect as a snack with mulled wine or the Advent coffee.
Instructions:
Start by melting the butter. Then let the butter cool. Mix together the dry ingredients. Then pour in the milk, water and melted butter. Beat until it becomes a smooth batter. Pour the batter into a thermos or bottle and take it out with you. Heat the waffle iron by placing it on top of the fire or embers so that it is really hot before you start baking your waffles. Then brush the iron with butter or oil. Then let the waffles be baked until they are golden brown. Keep an eye on them, this can go fast. Saffron cream: Whisk together cream, saffron and vanilla sugar. Serve with the saffron cream and optional jam/berry.
